Awwwwwwwww yeah! As of Wednesday, I own another FIVE Master Grades. Ordered from HobbyWave, I got the MG GP01 Zephyranthes, the GP03 Stamen, the RX-78-4 G4, the Wing Gundam, and the GN-X. I’ve had a hard time making up my mind on which to build, but I know for a fact that I won’t be building the Zephyranthes anytime soon.

Made in 1997, the GP01 Zephyranthes is the epitome of old-school Bandai. The plastic’s white is sort of like a minty-green off-white and the red is slightly transparent, the color apps aren’t that great and the technology is very obviously sixteen years old. But that’s not my real problem. It’s the manual that bothers me the most. It’s a disorganized mess! One minute I’m working on the head, the next, I’m doing a part of the arm, and suddenly, the torso. None of it is organized by part, and the format itself is jumbled and messy.

So I started with the GP01, switched to the Wing and got bored, and now here I am working on the GN-X. I’ve decided to change my method when it comes to building these suckers. From now on the head will be done last, and the arms will be done first. I’m hoping that this will help keep me interested in the kit and prevent me from constantly switching back and forth between the new kits I have.

Don’t forget to check out my latest livestreams! I’ve been broadcasting basically every single time I work on ANY of my kits! Here’s the link, for anyone interested: www.livestream.com/tubepowered

Hey world,

I’ve decided to change up how I’m going to be doing content for this site for awhile. Instead of doing your typical paragraph and pictures posting style I’ll be posting videos to livestream. Consider it a work in progress as I work to refine my build videos. Every time I decide to start working on a model kit, I’ll be firing up the camera and broadcasting the footage for the world or, more likely, a few random people to see.

I’m really looking forward to doing these livestreams and I hope that someone out there will at least appreciate that I’m doing something to add some content to this site.

On that note, I’d like to apologize to anyone who happens by this site and finds it a little lacking. I was pretty gung-ho about getting this thing in working order and getting a steady stream of updates out when I received news that my uncle/godfather had been killed. It messed me up, and I lost all will to work on this site. I’m trying to make up for that now, though, with these livestreams.

Here’s the link to my channel: http://www.livestream.com/tubepowered

Soon enough I’ll have a widget installed that can link between gundammit and my livestreams. Until then…

Keep those hobby knives sharp.

Ahhh… I finally get a chance to inaugurate my new blog! I’ve been wanting to have my own site for quite awhile now, but only recently found the motivation and the resources required to get things going. I’ll try to make this bit brief, and do a more thorough continuation and elaboration of this post under a dedicated “information” page.

First of all, as you may have guessed by the header links, this site is dedicated to the art of Gunpla. Don’t know what that funny-sounding word even means? Well… Don’t worry! I’ve gotcha covered. For those of you who don’t know, Gunpla is essentially a portmanteau (a combination of two words to form a smaller one) of both the word “Gundam” and “Plamo.” And, yes, “plamo” is a portmanteau, too; this time, it stands for “plastic models.” So Gundam is just that! Gundam plastic model kits! Though not quite as popular in the States as it is over in Japan, it’s still got itself a rather large underground following. Pretty soon I’ll go ahead and put more extensive information on the subject of Gunpla on the information page, as well.

Essentially, this blog is a sort of “evolution” of my previous one, which resides still, to this day, on Tumblr. It was created in response to a challenge given by a friend to build a rather large number of model kits in just a little over a week or so, if I remember correctly. Long story short, I caved and failed mostly because the challenge was sucking all of the fun out of what is normally a very enjoyable hobby. As a result, the site was essentially dead for a little while before I decided to try and reignite the spark I had and keep it running as an all-purpose Gunpla blog, but I simply wasn’t able to keep it running.

This time, however, it’s different. Now I’ve got my own domain name  (two, actually!), a better state of mind, more model kits than ever sitting in my backlog, and some friends to support me in this endeavor of mine! I also don’t plan on making this blog exclusively about me building my Gundam model kits, and plan to incorporate a little more of myself into the blog, making a bit more… personal. Oh, and I plan on incorporating YouTube into the site, too. …Somehow.

Obviously, this site still needs… well… a lot of work done on it, but I believe that the only way I can move forward is to just start blindly stumbling forward! That’s why, in a very short amount of time, I’ll make my first Work-in-Progress post! Yay! Since I had already started working on this kit, it may seem a little weird that I’m starting about 180+ pieces into the model already, but… just go with it.
